Touch Academy in Auckland
For five years Galaxy has been facilitating a touch academy in Auckland on Monday evenings 6.00pm to 8.00pm through Autumn and Winter. The venue is the awesome OFC astroturf field at Ngahue reserve in St Johns, Auckland. The Academy has a youth focus and the majority of participants fill that demographic however no one is turned away and there are all genders and ages taking part. Game skills, team skills, tactics and game scenarios are some of the aspects covered. The core skills around catch and pass, ruck work, movements and vision/decision are covered regularly as are the sub unit skills of subbing transition, attack plays and defensive systems.
